Starting a trip to Europe in April 2009

Here is one of my tradition that every April (Hot Season of Thailand -- actually a very hot season) we need to go for a long trip -- again, this is Europe trip (Bangkok to Paris to Antwerp, Brussels, Bruges, Ghent, and Paris before back to Bangkok).

Flight to Europe from Suvanabhumi Airport took off by midnight -- it's a kind of free flying since I redempted my frequent flyer score from Thai Airways !!! Now, first meal started -- I'm not crazy but I like eating at airport ... Below was meals that we had after passing the immigration ... Chicken Burger (even it looked pale - but I like it since it's a minced chicken grilled with sesame bun) and Pomorodo Pasta (tomato sauce was a bit spicy since I guess chef put some chilli in).

Since we don't bother much about airway meal especially from Thai Airways !!! We did not pay attention much on 1st serve as they called dinner. Then after 1o hours in flight before landing, they served us breakfast. Here're typical Thai Airways Breakfast -- Omlette & Sausages and Special Meal Seafood which they selected fish, shrimp, scallop with vegetables !!!

Umm I won't say much since we were only looking for good coffee & croissant at Paris only ...

Last meal at Hong Kong International Airport

I am a kind of strange person -- every time I travel, I prefer having a meal at airport (before flying) ... Hong Kong International Airport is another fun place for me to enjoy an airport meal.

This time I went for Ramen -- no Japanese food the the last 4 days !!! The brand is Ajisen Raman -- a home-style Japanese noodle specialty from Kyushu, Japan (established since 1968) which offers a wide selection of home-style Japanese cuisine, Japanese noodles, rice and snack dishes.

Years ago, Not much of Ajisen Ramen in the city of Hong Kong -- I had to have it only at Airport ... Now, almost in traffic area has Ajisen Ramen Shop (total of 208 branches throughout China) ...

At Airport, I must follow that rule of queuing in and ordered whatever set or dishes I wanted, then I paid and received receipt which showed me a queue number. I must wait till the number was called -- there was a screen shown a number) ... Long queue I must say !!! Finally picking up my tray in different counter and enjoyed at the desk ... Below left is a Miso Soup Set with Deep Fried Creme Potato Cake

Terminal 1 Departure Hall (Level 7)
Service Hour : 06:30 - 01:00

Another thing that I never ever missed at Hong Kong Airport is "Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits" . The thing is that there is no long Popeyes chin in Thailand -- The closest location is in Hong Kong ...

Popeyes is the fast-food chain for quick chicken concept, serving a selection of delicious New Orleans-style chicken in a Cajun sauce and a variety of snacks.

My favourites is, of course, biscuits with maple syrub, mash potatoes with cajun gravy, and cole slaw ...

Anyway, there are more restaurant & dinings for you to select at Hong Kong internation al Airport. Visit : http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/shopping/dining/all/dining.html

Another thing I noticed in Hong Kong International Airport was that --
There is Wi-Fi everywhere in Hong Kong International Airport !!!
It's a free service connection to PCCW Wi-Fi airport-wide ...

Thank you PCCW ... your internet was so quick -- I was able to download pictures for my blog so quick that I could not catch up typing ...

Breakfast at Suvarnmabhumi Airport

This is the first starting meal of my trip to Hong Kong ... Actually this trip should be in December 2008 but with a little problem of Thailand Political Issue -- The Airport was closed !!! Therefore, after checking the free dates from work, here it is the first day of my Hong Kong Trip ...

Since the trip was started early morning and I have enough time to enjoy a meal (I mean proper meal) ... Here it is ... an American Breakfast at King Power managed shop at a kind of kiosk island type area (just opposite Ferragamo Shop).

Two fried eggs with Ham, Bacon, Sausages plus coffee, orange juice, fruit, and toast (with butter & jam) ... Okay, this was I looked for recently as breakfast ...

Can't help since breakfast is the most important meal of the day !!!

Food Court in Chicago O'haire Airport

The objective of this is to warn anyone who travel via Chicago O'haire Airport (Terminal 1). This is a picture of Jazz Food Court entrance which has many types of food available. I had ice-cream once, it is okay to crunch my thirst and exhausted from long hour travel.

However, I have tried another one of them on "MANCHO WOK". It sounds already chinese but don't expect much that it will be a good Chinese food ...

I saw long queue in front of this section, then I decided to have a test on Chinese Food in US Airport. Ha Ha Ha I should not do a test with this. The fried rice is as cold as it could be with no taste of anything (at all). Luchkily that I also ordered Orange Chicken. The taste of it was so sweet and so sour.

For me, I should have tried the breakfast kiosk instead.
For you, if you have a chance to be there, don't go for this thing. There are lots of other things for you to explore ...

Hot Udon at Narita Airport

Since I had a 4 hour transit in Narita Airport, of course, Japanese Food. I needed a hot one since it would increase my energy for almost another almost 20 hours till the destination.

Here were udon that we (I and others from my company) had at "TATSU" in Terminal1

1) Wakame Udon -- Hot Udon with Japanese Seaweed
2) Kitsune Udon -- Hot Udon with Fried Tofu
3) Tempura Udon -- Hot Udon wth Fried Shrimp

Even I feel that Udon is not freshly made (instant), I was appreciated it very much since I thought of another long hours from Tokyo to Chicago in plane.
